Unified Communications Implementation OptionsWhat is the most cost effective way to integrate mobility for users who split their time in and out of the office? How about those who are mobile only within the office? This inaugural report on the State of Voice Security presents a perspective developed from more than ten years of real-world experience and data. In this report, we present a comprehensive review of voice network threats, provide a threat taxonomy, and discuss the impact of technological advances, such as public/private SIP. In addition, we have compiled measurements of threat activity and have contrasted these levels over both ten- and three-year periods to provide a sense of threat trending. The following RFP document was exclusively designed and developed by Stein Technology Consulting Group for the Enterprise Connect ? The RFP was written for a large multi‐facility enterprise configuration with IP voice terminals as the primary station user interface to the system. We recognize that every 'real life' client has unique requirements, but the material ncluded herein will be of benefit to Enterprise Connect workshop attendees regardless of their unique system size and application requirements. This RFP document was designed and developed by Wainhouse Research for a variety of uses, including the Enterprise Connect 2011 Conference in Orlando. Unified communications has been the subject of thousands of press articles, and it is constantly being promoted by vendors and analysts as the next great communications breakthrough that every company must adopt right now in order to remain competitive. However, this rush to unify communications has created a significant amount of doubt, uncertainty, and confusion among end user companies.Companies today are undergoing a significant transformation to a more global Anywhere Enterprise?. Unified communications (UC) is a crucial component in this evolution and organizations look to collaborate better with an extended enterprise (see Exhibit 1). UC has the power to help companies lower the overall cost of communications, bring worker productivity to new levels, enhance corporate green initiatives and completely redefine the way we work by becoming part of our application infrastructure.Planning any IT technology upgrade is never as simple as sending out an RFP and wading through the responses. It takes careful upfront planning to do it right. And when the technology issue you're addressing happens to involve your enterprise communications system, trying to understand what's currently available since the last time you did an upgrade can be a project in itself.
